There have been a surge in new idle games following the success of Rusty's Retirement and Cast n Chill is the latest one to launch alongside Steam's Fishing Fest!
Developer WombatBrawler, which is a bit of a juxtaposition to the game itself, launched Cast n Chill on Steam today and you can pick it up now for just over £10/under $12 USD thanks to the 20% launch discount. The full price is £12.79/$14.99 USD.
Take to the rivers, lakes, or seas, with your trusty dog companion on the hunt for legendary catches in this laidback fishing game.
While at first you may have a bit of trouble reeling in the bigger catches, as time goes on you'll be able to spend your fish money to upgrade your rods and line, buy bait, and even upgrade your boat.
The thing that really captured my attention when it came to this game is the beautiful art style, which you can already see a glimpse of in the screenshots above. The dev CombatBrawler has really outdone themselves with the serene scenes although I wonder how serene the fishing will be - after all, fishing minigames can be very polarising for players.
But if you're not a fan of it, there's also a Passive Mode where the game will do all the fishing while you're work on other things.
With 50 species to discover and 13 whisper-worthy legends to investigate, I'm looking forward to Cast n Chill becoming my new work from home companion and there's even a Supporter Pack that unlocks two new buddies to accompany you on your adventure - a Bernese Mountain Dog or a Maine Coon cat.
Cast n Chill is available on PC via Steam.
