Fae Farm is a magical farming game that was first released in 2023 for PC and Switch, with PlayStation and Xbox ports added the following year.
While it was mired in controversy at the beginning, Fae Farm has evened out at a 78% mostly positive rating on Steam.
But in a recent update to their Steam page, they added the following with little to no additional explanation provided:
"Important Update: Fae Farm will be going offline September 10 at 23:59 Pacific Time. Fae Farm will no longer be playable online and will not receive any future updates. Its single-player offline mode will remain available."
It also appears to have been removed completely from Epic Games Store as the page now leads to 404: Page Not Found error message.
There has been no official post about this from Phoenix Labs nor has there been an update shared on the official Fae Farm social media sites, although this does appear to be disused and hasn't been updated since late 2024.
Earlier this year, Phoenix Labs laid off the majority of their studio and there's also the rising prevalence of the Stop Killing Games movement to consider too.
This does leave many fans confused though with many asking will this also affect the console versions of the game?
While Fae Farm is still enjoyable in single-player mode, exploring this magical world with friends was definitely a large selling point of the game and a big part of the marketing, which undoubtedly will leave a sour taste in the mouth of many players.
