Every Steam Next Fest gets bigger and bigger, so to save you digging through over 3,000 games, I’m here to share over 30 cozy game demos that I think might be worth your time.

As always there's a video version of this too, which you can find below:

Whiskers' Wish

And I’ve not heard anyone talking about this first game where you play as a kitty who has been abandoned in a park in the dead of night.

No, stay with me because while the premise is sad this game, the actual gameplay seems really cute as you explore the park, meet other kitties, and even find yourself in fantasy realms!

The art style is what caught my attention first for this one, but I also love the message and how it’s based on a real park in the studio’s home city. And they’re donating a portion of the profits to supporting their local cat shelter. So if you check out any of these games, make sure to check out Whiskers’ Wish!

Fishbowl

I’ve had my eye on this next game for literal years!

Fishbowl is a slice of life coming of age story that follows Alo, a twenty-one year old who’s just moved to a new city for a new job.

Fishbowl explores the struggles she faces every day living in isolation, nurturing friendships and navigating the grief she feels from losing her grandma. Help her to stay in touch with her loved ones, complete her video editing work, and sort through her late grandmother’s things.

The pixel art style is gorgeous and I like how it’s tackling heavier topics like self-care and grief and it’s also going to be launching in April 2026.

Plush Parade

I’ve been a big fan of CozyBee Games for a while now and she’s released some great cozy games over the years like Lemon Cake, The Ranch of Rivershine, and Capybara Spa and this is her next game!

Plush Parade is a plushie shop sim where you design and sell custom-made plushies. Create your own plush collections, collecting accessories, designing blind-boxes, and marketing as well.

But unlike most shop sims that’s not all, because there’s also a light-hearted story with a rival plushie brand that you’ll be competing with to become the best plush designer! I love the idea for this one and while there’s no launch date yet I still think it’s worth checking out the demo.

A Storied Life: Tabitha

PC | Switch

This next game looks perfect for fans of Unpacking and A Little to the Left, which is no surprise because it’s actually being published by the same publisher as the latter.

A Storied Life: Tabitha is a wholesome narrative puzzle game about sorting through the home of a loved one who has recently passed away. Discover the life they led as you sort through their belongings, deciding which ones to keep, which ones to sell, and which ones to discard forever.

But while organising you come across their soon-to-be-published memoir, which has been damaged! Use the items you find around the house to repair the damage and piece together their past. But you can’t keep everything and the things you do choose to keep will change the outcome of the story.

A Storied Life: Tabitha is due to launch on the 14th April on PC & Switch and I have a gameplay video of the demo if you want to see what it’s like!

Feline Forensics and the Meowseum Mystery

Duck Detective really opened the door for other cozy animal detective games and this one looks great!

This game is about a cat detective, who’s been tasked with unraveling a murder that spirals into a museum heist! A priceless gemstone has disappeared and a guest has died but who is the perpetrator?

Investigate the crime scene, interrogate suspects and listen to way too many cat puns in the demo for Feline Forensics and the Meowseum Mystery, which will be launching in Q2 2026!

The Witch's Bakery

Next up is The Witch's Bakery, a cozy adventure RPG about a witch opening her own bakery in Paris! Spend your days working in the bakery and your nights exploring the city of love and discovering the secrets it hides.

But Lunne is a witch with a special ability - she can see into people's hearts and heal emotions through magic. By talking to her customers and entering their “Heart Palace”, Lunne can discover their deepest struggles and bake them a special pastry to heal them!

There’s a heartfelt story to discover and a bakery to run in The Witch’s Bakery, which will be launching at some point this year!

Frog Holm

In this next game, you play as an adorable frog who inherits an old pub on a small island archipelago - and suddenly gets pulled into a mysterious disappearance.

This is a cozy, narrative mystery game, where you explore the islands, meet the locals, and mix cocktails for guests. There’s a lot of different elements at play here with the exploration, gathering and cooking, but I love the concept and can’t wait to check out Frog Holm!

Serenity Forge

Puppergeist

Play as a witch who heads into the Doggie Underworld in search of your missing puppy! Travel through the mystical world of lost dog spirits, helping the adorable Puppergeists find peace by solving their problems through playful rhythm-based challenges!

This is a unique game that blends rhythm gameplay, visual novel storytelling that will tug at your heartstrings and a cute art style.

Bookbinding

This next game is a little darker, but there’s a lot of creativity involved!

In Bookbinding you work as a bookbinder who takes in old books and gives them a new lease of life. You’ll get to decorate them to your heart’s content, choosing the colours and design that suits your customer’s preferences, or yours if that’s what you want to do instead!

But as you play through the game, an old friend will appear and soon you’ll be tangled up in a murder with your choices dictating the outcome of the game…

I’ve also played this one on the channel if you want to see what it’s like or you can try out the demo ahead of its launch in Q2 2026.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth

PC | Switch

From the creators of Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley comes another heart-warming adventure inspired by the Moomin books!

When Moomintroll unexpectedly wakes up early from his winter hibernation, he finds himself completely alone for the first time, in a world he barely recognises.

The Winter season has set over the valley, replacing the familiar green landscape with layers and layers of white snow. Head out into the great outdoors to experience Moomintroll’s first Winter, where he’ll meet new friends, help them out by solving quests and puzzles, and discover that warmth can be found even in the coldest of seasons.

Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth is set to release on the 27th of April on PC, Switch 1 and Switch 2!

Thrifty Business

From the creators of Sticky Business and Rituals of Raven comes a laid-back management sim about running your very own 90’s-inspired thrift shop! Search through boxes filled with pre-loved gems and use them to create gorgeous displays. Unlock furniture, decorations, wallpaper & floors to create a beautiful community space that brings everybody together!

But it’s so much more than just a store. Listen to customer’s stories and try to fulfill their requests. You can also unlock and host hobbyist events, turning your business into a treasured space for locals in Thrifty Business!

Puni the Florist

PC

Run a magical flower shop with the help of a clueless but lovable fairy in this cozy simulation game. Fulfill customer requests by designing unique bouquets using your own floral combinations and learn the language of flowers through floriography to complete flower collections.

Each arrangement is an opportunity to express your creativity, mixing flowers and decorations to match what customers are seeking, uncover their stories, and form long-lasting friendships.

Momento

This is another cozy organisation game that’s perfect for fans of Unpacking, but you can help decide where the protagonist goes next!

Follow them as they move from house to house and room to room, and in each one you’ll need to decorate and tidy it up. But there’ll also be life-changing items that you’ll need to choose between, deciding which ones to take with you and which ones to leave behind.

By choosing their favourite items that they’ll take with them through their life, you’ll essentially end up writing the main character’s story: what they like, what they love and who they might become in the future.

There are multiple endings to discover and who knows where you might end up…

Flock Around

There aren’t enough co-op cozy games and this one looks like a co-op Alba: A Wildlife Adventure!

Team up with your friends to explore a nature sanctuary and go bird-hunting. Explore the park together, snapping pictures of the birds you find to complete the guide book. From the common Robin, to more rare and exotic birds, there’s a variety of biomes to explore on your quest to snap them all!

Or you can choose to just mess around with your friends in Flock Around!

Hozy

Hozy is a relaxing cleaning and decorating game where you return to your hometown and start restoring rundown apartments, buildings, and homes to turn them into something new and exciting.

I played the Playtest for this one and one of the things I liked about it was how unique each item and level felt. Every level had its own unique set of items that gave it its own character and unique vibe. From funky plant pots to the decorations on the wall and even the style of the sofa; you could really feel the individuality of each person coming through.

I love cozy cleaning games and Hozy will be launching on the 30th of March so it’s definitely worth checking out the demo now if you haven’t already.

Witchspire

This is another cozy co-op game, but the term cozy may be used a little loosely as this is a survival game.

Play as a group of novice witches and wizards with your friends on a quest to find your way home before you’re consumed by an ancient darkness. Use your magical abilities to collect resources, befriend familiars, and build homes in a whimsical world, but it won’t be all smooth sailing as corrupted spirits and deadly creatures lurk in the shadows…

But how is a survival game cozy? Well they’ve removed some of the harsher mechanics like hunger and thirst, and allow unlimited sprinting to encourage exploration. They've also introduced familiars who share the load when it comes to collecting resources and battling enemies.

I’ve not played a survival game before, but I’m definitely intrigued by Witchspire, especially with the magical witch theme! If you are too, it’ll be launching into Early Access later this year.

Spirit Talk

Let’s go for another witchy game, but this one inspired by Until Then and Coffee Talk.

Spirit Talk is a narrative game about a little witch who can talk to spirits. She’s just opened her own spiritual agency, acting as a bridge between spirits and their loved ones, so they can deal with their unsettled matters and rest in peace.

Talk to your customers and craft potions to help them remember details and key moments of their stories and maybe you’ll be able to help resolve their issues. The demo is out now and Spirit Talk will be launching in Q2 2026.

Map Map: A Game About Maps

Next up is a cozy puzzle game where you are the map maker. Starting with a blank coastline, canvas uncharted islands in search of treasure and use your cartography skills to fill out each map. Measure distances, plot key landmarks, and create easy to read maps to lead your crew to the hidden treasure.

Every island has been handcrafted and seeded with ancient ruins, animals, and secret locations to discover. So while you’ve got a quest to complete, don’t forget to explore each island as well when Map Map: A Game About Maps launches in Q2 2026.

Outbound

This next game is also about exploring!

Build your own home on wheels and live sustainably off-grid in Outbound. In this game, you start with an empty camper van and turn it into the home of your dreams. Scavenge resources, develop new technologies and build your own moving home, which can be powered with energy from the sun, wind, or water.

There’s also farming and fishing and you can decorate and customise your home and they’ve even added co-op for up to four players and first person view for while you’re driving.

I also tried out the demo for this one if you want to see what the gameplay is like before Outbound launches in Q2 2026!

Walk the Frog

This next game is so unique: it’s a puzzle platformer, but you literally need to move around the platforms!

Walk the Frog tells a heart-warming adventure played across sticky notes. Easily drag and drop each piece around the board to unlock new paths, meet new characters, and discover a moving story packed full of funny dialogue!

Beastro

This next game fuses cooking gameplay with roguelike elements!

Play as a young chef running a local restaurant; you’ll need to collect fresh ingredients by foraging, farming, and caring for animals, which you’ll then use to dish up delicious meals!

The roguelike elements come from equipping adventurers who visit your eatery, with delicious meals to help them on their journeys. The ingredients you provide them with can affect their journey, helping them to survive the deck-building combat and bring home tasty treats to improve your dishes in Beastro!

Nomori

Discover a Ghibli-esque adventure where you play as a curious girl stuck in a spirit world. Play as Kiko, who will need to use her newfound Spirit Powers to travel through the portals of Nomori and help save a world in trouble.

Warp the world around you, placing, shifting, and rotating portals to manipulate gravity, control the flow of time and bend the world to your will to progress. Combine your powers to explore new locations and find your way through this magical world and maybe you’ll be able to bring the shattered islands of the Spirit World back together.

Planet of Lana II

We’re also getting a sequel to Planet of Lana! Planet of Lana II is a cozy cinematic puzzle adventure platformer set in a sci-fi world.

Set after the original game, the robot invasion is over, and the sequel sees Lana and her little companion facing new threats from greedy human factions exploiting the leftover tech.

This time their journey will take them to new locations, where they’ll learn more about their planet and themselves, when Planet of Lana II launches on the 5th of March.

Sledding Game

Next up is another co-op game that has been doing numbers on social media.

In Sledding Game you get to choose an adorable animal, a board, and hang out with your friends as you race to the bottom of snowy mountains.

But that’s not all, because you can also get in snowball fights, build snowmen, roast smores, make hot chocolate and just genuinely have a great time hanging out with your friends or make new ones with both private and public lobbies!

Trinket Bag Maker

From the creator of Magical Greenhouse, comes another cute girlypop game! Inspired by games from the 2000’s, Trinket Bag Maker is a cozy decorating game where you create your own trinket bag!

Use more than 100 charms, trinkets and accessories to decorate, changing the colour, pattern, and shape to design your own personalised bag! This really feels like a blast from the past but Trinket Bag Maker will be launching next month so make sure to check out the demo and share your bag designs!

Collector's Cove

Next up is a cozy farming adventure set on the high seas!

Choose your animal companion and set out on an adventure to complete your Collector’s Compendium. Your journey will take you far and wide in search of new islands and climate zones with their own unique flora and fauna.

As you explore you’ll be able to upgrade and decorate your ship while also strengthening your bond with your animal driver in Collector’s Cove, which is launching on the 12th of March!

Greenhearth Necromancer

I tend not to cover idle games any more because of the sheer quantity of them, but this one definitely caught my eye because the story is written by the writer of I Was a Teenage Exocolonist.

Greenhearth Necromancer is a gardening idle-sim where you raise a garden from the dead. Step into the shoes of a young necromancer tending their late grandmother’s garden. But you aren’t a very talented gardener and must rely on necromancy to bring plants back to life.

Resurrect your withered plants and discover special traits and yields unlocked through transformation. While also getting to know your neighbours and even your grandmother’s spirit.

I’m intrigued to see how the story works with the idle gameplay so I’ll definitely be checking this one out!

Cleaning Up!

This next game is a cleaning game, but it looks a lot more chaotic than usual! Play as a gig worker, who takes on a variety of cleaning jobs around the city from an apartment FULL of hoarded items, to a coffee shop, ancient temple, or even a haunted mansion…

One of the things I love about Cleaning Up! Is that we can actually watch our little character sweeping everything up with their brush or sucking it up with their industrial hoover.

Little Chef Cozy Cooking

This cute and cozy cooking game encourages you to experiment by combining a range of ingredients to see what you can cook up! From comfort food to gourmet dishes and utter catastrophes that should not be repeated, there are around 300 recipes to discover.

But not all the ingredients will be easy to find, so you’ll need to thoroughly search the kitchen and navigate the quirky physics gameplay to make sure you’ve left no stone unturned or ingredient unused.

Little Chef Cozy Cooking will be launching on the 16th March on PC!

Duppy Detective Tashia

Next up is another mystery game, but this time it’s based on Caribbean Folklore!

While chasing after an assailant, Tashia somehow gets mixed up in a murder mystery that she needs to get to the bottom of. Help Tashia find her stolen shadow amongst a colourful cast of ghostly citizens in this interactive visual novel that’s launching this year!

Animalkind

Our penultimate game is another multiplayer sandbox adventure called Animalkind. Build a town together with your friends, but you’ll be playing adorable animals like corgis, cats, and racoons who can also pilot mechs!

Yes, it’s a little wacky but it also looks like great fun as you build a community of animals by building houses, laying paths, and transforming the terrain.

Image Credit: Indiebuild & Catoptric Games

PakinPaks

In our final game, you’ll be running a bag-packing company. Travel the world organizing luggage, bags, and boxes across four different game modes:

Cozy Travel Mode lets you journey with your boss, BonBon the cat fulfilling their requests, while Zen Infinite Mode generates endless packing challenges, Rush Mode pits you against the clock, and Brainy Mode has limited moves requiring careful strategy.

Each puzzle asks you to fit everything perfectly but you can get creative with your strategy as long as everything fits in in PakinPaks, which is launching in Q1 2026.

Those are the 30+ games that caught my eye this Steam Next Fest, but have I missed something good? Let me know in the comments and let me know what you think if you try any of these demos!
